What We Do
CAMAD (Community Action Machynlleth & District) was formed in 1998 to provide much-needed community support and to act as a hub for volunteering in the area. Working in partnership with local and national charities we aim to nurture a strong, healthy and inclusive community.
Across the website you can follow links to our various services and opportunities. We see our community work and volunteer activities as interdependent - our community work is made possible through the kind dedication of volunteers, and our volunteers in turn offer invaluable service to our community.
We are a friendly and inviting office, being very generous with our tea and coffee. People come to us for a whole range of reasons. Some want to contribute to some particular aspect of community care, others want a change from the old routine, others would like a gentler route back into work, and others enjoy the camaraderie of volunteering. Whatever you're searching for, even if you're not entirely sure what it is, we can find something that brings out the best in you and in others.
We list our opportunities further on the website so do give us a shout if anything jumps out at you. We enjoy having a chat, though, so do come in and let us know what's going on with you and where you want to go. We'll do our best to get you there.
